The sheriff’s public-records page says in-person requesters complete a form and present picture ID. Its open-records page also provides an online route and lists LEC-PublicRecords@co.potter.tx.us. Identify the agency, person or incident, date range, and requested record as narrowly as possible.
For a city police report, Amarillo Police Open Records uses 200 SE 3rd Ave, Amarillo, TX 79101 and 806-378-3579. Its request form asks for a specific description and period. It lists a photograph at actual cost, with processing that can extend beyond the usual ten-business-day response when redaction or review is required.
Choose the source based on what you need, rather than assuming a county roster can answer every Amarillo or state-custody question.
- Use the county records path for the roster, Book-In report, daily log, and sheriff request options.
- Use Most Wanted Fugitives for official warrant-check routes and verification contacts.
- Use the Potter County case portal for later court activity, not as an arrest source.
- Use the TDCJ offender search for current state-system custody after a transfer.
- Use the Bureau of Prisons locator or ICE locator only for their separate federal or immigration custody scopes.
